Mumbai have variety of delicious food,
but ‘Vada Pav’ is a major delicacy.
Then, let’s learn how to make this dish.
Firstly, take a ginger, garlic and chilli
and grind it into a paste.
Remember, grind it coarsely and
not into a smooth paste.
After making the paste,
let’s prepare vada filling.
Take a pan, add 2 tbsp oil.
Add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds.
After mustard seeds have crackled, add
1/2 tbsp asafoetida and some curry leaves.
Now, add ginger, garlic and chilli paste.
Stir it well.
Now, add 5 boiled and mashed potatoes
Add some turmeric powder,
salt and coriander leaves.
Mix it well.
Transfer it in a bowl and let
it cool down completely.
Let’s prepare batter for vada.
Take a bowl, add 1 1/2 cup of
gram flour and some cornflour
1/2 tbsp turmeric powder.
1/2 tbsp red chilli powder.
1/2 tbsp asafoetida.
And salt to taste.
Add water and mix it, until the batter
comes to a pouring consistency.
Make small balls of potato mixture.
Add these balls to the batter.
Take a pot and heat the oil.
Dip potato balls into the batter
and coat them well.
With the help of fork pick up the balls
and place it in a hot oil.
Remember, it should not stick to each other.
Keep a safe distance from oil.
Fry it, till they turn into a golden brown
and remove it in a tissue paper.
Tasty vadas are ready.
Take a pav and slit it.
Apply coriander chutney and
garlic chutney to pav
And place vada in the center.
